Short film (Russia, 1994)

Script: Viktor Slavkin, Anton Chekhov
Director: Anatoly Vasiliev

Moscow underground. People riding the train. Families, couples, singles. Runs, stations, incoming and outgoing streams of people. Transitions. Perhaps the camera looks through the eyes of the heroine, perhaps it is God who looks, who sees underground. A woman enters a carriage with a dog. Outskirts of the station, the dog wanders along the platform. The surface of the earth, the road, new buildings, the heroine walks home from the metro. Her monologue is either to someone or to herself. Fragments of daytime thoughts and images that gradually grow into an idea of herself as a lost dog – Kashtanka.
